Magic Lining VIDEO & Photos!

October 8, 2018

Magic Lining is a collaborative project between an Kristi Kuusk and scientists from the areas of human-computer interaction, psychology and neuroscience -- MAGICSHOES. Throughout the STARTS Residency we have been working on achieving a clothing, that is able to change the wearer's self-perception through the inside of the garment.

The project focuses on e-textiles to integrate sensory feedback close to the body. The work builds on the insights from scientific project MAGICSHOES and proposes a garment that allows the user to feel as if their body would be made of a different material.

We started from blending the team's knowledge in a kick off workshop Magic!, got to know each other more in Kristi's Textile Futures studio in Tallinn. We proceeded into the first two weeks residency at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. You can read all about it in our blog posts week1 & week2. Other part of the residency took part at the Tallinn University. And the project continued by another 2 weeks residency at Carlos III de Madrid.
