Tim Otto Roth develops together with Bio4Comp researchers from Dresden, Chemnitz, Würzburg (all Germany), Oxford (United Kingdom), Lund and Kalmar (both Sweden) a sound and video installation revealing the new paradigm of bio computation: a sub-sub-microbiological machinery based on tube like protein polymers, the so called microtubules.

In phase I he visited the labs in autumn 2017. Find some impressions of the residency in our video documentation:

In the extended video you gain some insight into bio computation and the work in the Bio4Comp labs at TU Dresden and Fraunhofer Institute for Electronic Nano Systems ENAS in Chemnitz. Tim Otto Roth designed during his residency a nano structure with special loops animating the microbiological molecules to move in a special way to create a kind of bio sound synthesizer: The resulting spatio-temporal patterns are translated in phase II in a dynamic sound carpet.
